Masutatsu “Mas” Oyama was born in Korea (Gimje) with the birth name Choi Yeong-eui. He learnd Karate under Gichin Funakoshi, Gogen Yamaguchi and Nei-Chu So. Mas Oyama founded the Kyokushin karate style.
